How we got started:
Faced with a need to find spaces/events to sell the Zapatista cooperative items we had volunteered and committed to selling as well as our pre-loved items (which fund our travels to meetings/conferences with the coop members) and having many doors closed on us because we were not the artisans ourselves and the prices for booths were so high, we had to think outside box.
Two great ARTivist from a well known local LA band Quetzal (Martha G. & Quetzal F.) helped come up with the idea, name and production of the very first Anti-Mall and since then, we've been growing and growing. Our goal of finding more spaces to sell the coop items grew to promoting Conscious Consuming and making our communities aware of their artivist, coops, organizations and conscious business.

Annually, we host Anti-Malls through-out Southern California and have an extensive roster of ARTivist Vendors and Socially Conscious Organizations. You can view some of their work here. We look forward to taking the Anti-Mall: People B4 Profit to your community soon! |
